Instant Ideas and Collaboration
For our chat on 1 October, we’re going to be tying in with CILIP’s New Professionals Day to offer information and advice to those starting out in library and information work. We’ll focus on practical advice, tips and insights – ‘what they don’t teach you in library school’. We’ll also be inviting people to finish the sentence ‘When I started out in LIS I never thought I’d…’
For our feature blog posts this month, we’re asking for your contributions again. This time we’re seeking contributions from a few different perspectives. We’d love to see posts from:
We’d like contributors to write about what advice they have for people entering the library and information field, or considering it. What have you learned from your experience? What has surprised you? Is there anything you’d do differently? What do you think is important for people starting out to know?
We’re looking for 500-700 words and the deadline for contributions is midnight on Sunday 22 September.
If you’d like to contribute and think you fit one of the categories above, please tweet us @uklibchat or email us at uklibchat @ gmail.com to let us know you’re interested. If you’ve got any questions, let us know.
Depending on the number of people interested, we might have to be selective in order to have a good mix of perspectives. If we already have a post lined up from someone in a similar point in their career, we’ll let you know.
